"The People's Champion Rises: Professor Dr. Lent C. Carr II Launches Revolutionary Campaign to Liberate North Carolina’s 9th Congressional District from Corruption, Betrayal, and Political Tyranny"

By Staff Writer, Phil Warren III | July 5, 2025

CHARLOTTE, NC — In an era defined by corruption, division, and betrayal of the public trust, a new voice has emerged from the crucible of injustice—a voice of purpose, of pain-turned-power, and of hope. That voice belongs to Professor Dr. Lent C. Carr II, and he’s not merely running for Congress—he’s leading a moral uprising to reclaim the soul of North Carolina’s 9th Congressional District.

Carr’s candidacy comes on the heels of unprecedented outrage following the passage of Donald Trump’s dystopian legislative monstrosity—the so-called “Big Ugly Bill.” Championed by 34 count indicted, and convicted President Donald J. Trump, and his loyal foot soldier, Rep. Richard Hudson, this bill has devastated the working poor, elderly, students, veterans, and teachers across North Carolina. It dismantled social safety nets, slashed healthcare and education funding, gave free rein to corporate greed, and gifted untold billions to the billionaire class.

But in the ashes of that betrayal, a fighter rises—not with lobbyist backing or billionaire donors, but with truth, courage, and the unwavering love of the people irrespective of their race, class, ethnicity, sexual orientation, or party affiliation.

Tested by Fire. Proven by Pain. Empowered by Purpose.

Lent Carr, Ph.D, is no ordinary candidate. His journey began in the heart of Greenville, North Carolina, where he preached peace and justice as a young pastor at World Harvest Church, and Civil and Human Rights rising Leader on the frontline with Coalition Against Racism, NAACP, SCLC, and National President of the National Congressional Voting Caucus for Human Rights NCVCHR—only to be brutally beaten by the infamous Ku Klux Klan (known today as the "White Nationalist Organization) inside his own church. His crime? Daring to speak truth to power.

What followed was a gross miscarriage of justice that would have shattered a lesser man: a federal frame-up, a wrongful conviction on fabricated alleged federal arson charge of one of his homes in the early 1990's, and a ruthless campaign to silence his rising influence. But 30 years later, Carr never gave up. He survived. He studied. He organized. He led as a Prophetic Moral Movement voice servant all across the Nation. Turning a tragedy into triumph for countless Americans of injustices.

Now fully exonerated, Carr carries his scars as badges of battle-tested conviction. “They thought prison would break me,” Carr says, “but all it did was teach me how the criminal mind works, even within some who holds, or have held public office. Now I’m using that knowledge to take down the very machine that tried to destroy me. for twelve and a half years wrongfully incarcerated, indeed I was 'persecuted, but not forsaken; cast down, but not destroyed.'”

His story echoes the journeys of other great champions who rose from betrayal to triumph: Nelson Mandela, who was jailed for 27 years before becoming the unifier of South Africa. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., who faced jail cells and beatings before igniting a movement. Jesus of Nazareth, betrayed by the state, crucified, and risen—not for power, but for the redemptive salvation of all.

Carr’s campaign is not about race, class, or party affiliation—it’s about justice versus corruption, compassion versus cruelty, and truth versus treason.

The Final Straw: The Big Ugly Betrayal

For Carr, the breaking point came when Richard Hudson sold out the people of North Carolina to serve the interests of the rich and indicted. Trump’s “Big Ugly Bill” is nothing short of a war on the working class, and marginalized poor.

“This isn’t just bad legislation,” Carr roared at a July 4th rally. “This is legislative violence against the people. And Richard Hudson helped write it.”

The bill has eliminated food support for hungry children. It’s stripped away green energy innovation, leaving our communities vulnerable to the climate crisis. It’s gutted healthcare access, gutted veterans’ services, and put the retirement of millions at risk. The "Big Ugly Bill" is projected to murder hundreds of thousands, literally all because of nefarious votes from Republican Lawmakers, and the evil stroke of Donald Trump's pen on the day of historical Liberation commemoration, July 4, 2025—all while padding the pockets of Trump’s criminal cronies.

“This is not governance,” Carr declared. “This is organized greed, and mafia cartel like crime. It’s criminal neglect. And I am the only candidate who truly understands how the minds of these political criminals work—because I was forced to survive among them. Now, I’m bringing their game to an end.”

Carr’s Vision: Radical Common Sense for All People

Under the banner "We’re Putting The Welfare of the People First and Politics Last," Dr. Carr has laid out a powerful, practical, and prophetic policy agenda:

  • Eradicate Poverty with comprehensive economic justice initiatives

  • Replace Property Taxes with a fair fiscal system that doesn’t punish homeownership

  • Universal Healthcare and Mental Health Access as human rights

  • Veterans Protections with housing, therapy, jobs, and dignity

  • Affordable Housing and Tuition-Free Public Education

  • Defend Social Security & Medicare from privatization predators

  • Expand Voting Rights and defend democratic integrity

  • Invest in Clean Energy and environmental resilience

  • Enact Living Wages and empower unions

Carr’s platform isn’t radical—it’s radically humane. It’s common sense for a society that values life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness for everyone, not just the top 1%.

“This isn’t left or right,” Carr said. “This is right and wrong. And I dare anyone—Democrat, Republican, or Independent—to look their neighbor in the eye and defend Richard Hudson’s betrayal.”

A Movement, Not a Campaign

This campaign is already catching fire. Carr’s ActBlue donation page is lighting up with grassroots support. A powerful video of him embracing a disabled veteran in Fayetteville has gone viral, viewed over 2.3 million times.

In the video, Carr says:

“I know what it’s like to sleep in a cell. I know what it’s like to go hungry. I know what it’s like to cry in silence. And that’s why, when I say I’ll fight for you—I mean it with every bone in my body.”

He has become a symbol of hope to those abandoned by both parties, and his campaign has united poor white farmers, Black working mothers, Latino veterans, and young students crushed by debt—all crying out for a real representative, not another puppet of the political elite.

A New Declaration of Independence

This election is not business as usual. It is a national emergency. And Dr. Lent C. Carr II is not just running for Congress. He is leading a new declaration—a declaration of independence from corruption, from cruelty, and from criminal politics.

“This is about restoring sanity, restoring faith, and restoring government to the people it was designed to serve,” Carr says. “If you’re tired of being lied to—if you’re tired of the games, the greed, the hatred—then join me. Let’s make history together.”
